Adopt a goldfish, you don't have to feed it, or clean the bowl. Just take it for a walk on a necklace - easy!
Artwork by Lea Hamblett embedded in resin.
The following art was created using pen and ink and tiny dots, then the print was hand coloured with pastels.

More on our featured artist:
Mary-Louise grew up in Thorold, Ontario and lives in Brockville. She completed her Fine arts diploma at St Lawrence College in Kingston and her BFA Honors Studio at Brock University. After graduating, she continued her education at Queens University with the Artist in community Program. Enjoying her time traveling and taking photos she paints, dances and teaches at Thousand Island Secondary School in Brockville. She exhibits her work various venues in town. Mainly she focuses on figures and portraits with mixed media. They are rich in texture and color becoming more expressive as she combines text and images. With her the newest approach we are drawn into the artists’ experience of the subjects she paints. I have been painting for 25 years. My inspiration is and always has been Life- People and the environment surrounding me- the substance of life. People and figure painting is primarily my passion. Working from photos, sketches and real life I create mood and expression through colour, light and texture with acrylic, oil paint, charcoal or mixed media. Inspired by everything I see, feel and experience, I paint intense textured canvases that may express a word, a need, reaching out or searching. Visual energy is essential to my work. Recently my travels have influenced my painting and I am exploring landscape, primarily vast skies and light. I hope you enjoy my old and new work. Feel free to comment or connect with me.
